Rockbridge Area Community Services seeks applicants for:

Position #DM05/DM06 - EMERGENCY SERVICES CLINICIANS - Full-Time

 

 

DUTIES:  Provide mental health and substance abuse emergency services for clients of all ages; complete pre-admission screenings, facilitate hospital admissions and discharges; provide out-patient assessments, treatment, and case management services when needed; provide motivational therapy or DBT modalities to clients in crisis (individually or group), attend commitment hearings and assist with MOT clients.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree in human services related field, mental health and/or substance abuse experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Extensive knowledge of the DSM, mental health and substance abuse assessments, treatment, crisis assessment and intervention strategies for clients of all ages; must be certified or eligible to be certified as a pre-screener by the CSB and Virginia DMHMRSAS.                                  

Position #KS03 – Family/Youth Clinical Manager

  

The FYPS Clinical Services Program Manager is responsible for the daily operations and overall management of Rockbridge Area Community Services’ child and adolescent MH and SA outpatient therapy services, child and adolescent case management services, In-Home Services, Child & Adolescent Day Treatment Services, and Project SUCCESS – a school-based prevention/early intervention initiative at one of the local high schools.   The incumbent provides clinical and administrative supervision for various FYPS programs and staff. The incumbent also provides time limited direct services in all service areas as needed.

 

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Provide day-to-day management and leadership in the development and implementation of the FYPS Clinical Services programs.
  • Coordinate, monitor and provide general oversight of FYPS Clinical Services, including administrative and clinical supervision.
  • Provide direct service to children, adolescents and families as needed, including clinical assessments of clients, outpatient therapy, and case management.
  • Ensure education and compliance for all staff under supervision in regards to clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with RACS policies and procedures and all relevant Medicaid, 3rd party payors and licensure guidelines. 
  • Participate in program development of all services assigned including new programs or initiatives as well as enhancement of clinical and administrative processes of existing programs.

 

Formal Education Requirements:

 

  • Possession of a Masters Degree or Ph.D. from an accredited college or university in a related human services field, and licensure as a Clinical Social Worker,  Professional Counselor or Clinical Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia and a minimum of at least two years experience in managing mental health, substance abuse services to children and families.
  • In addition the employee must possess and maintain a valid Virginia Driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record.
  • In addition the employee must demonstrate a working knowledge of the DSM IV/ICD 9 diagnostic criteria.
  • In addition the employ must demonstrate a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must be willing to learn electronic health recordkeeping in PsychConsult.

 

Position #KS02 – Family/Youth Clinician

 

As a member of the Family, Youth, and Prevention Services (FYPS) team, the FYPS Clinician is responsible for the assessment and provision of therapeutic mental health and substance abuse treatment services to emotionally and behaviorally disturbed children, adolescents, parents and families for Rockbridge Area Community Services.  Services provided by the incumbent will include, but are not limited to: assessment, therapy, case documentation, case management, consultation, education, crisis intervention, and substance abuse counseling/educational services.

 

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Provide outpatient individual, family, and group mental health and substance abuse services to SED, at-risk and priority population children and their families.  Provide individual, group, and/or family substance abuse outpatient services to children and their families.
  • Complete documentation to Medicaid and Virginia licensing standards on all direct and client related services provided to clients.
  • Develop and directly implement clinically sound and appropriate individual, family, and/or group interventions which assist the clients in achieving their individualized treatment goals
  • Work closely with other agencies and staff to coordinate the numerous services required by SED and at-risk children and their families in order to assist them in achieving success within the least restrictive environment and provide consultation and educational services to teachers, guidance counselors and other community professionals and agencies upon request
  • Attend and participate in scheduled FYPS team meetings and local Family Assessment and Family Team meetings. Function as FAPT case manager as needed on cases referred by the employee.
