Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Bath County Outpatient Clinic to support and strengthen families and individuals in Bath County by providing comprehensive mental health and substance abuse assessments and treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and their families.

Description of Program Services

Individual, Family, and Marital Counseling: Individual, family, and marital counseling is provided to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Therapists conduct a thorough clinical assessment focusing on areas that are identified in need of change. Together, the therapist and the individual, couple, or family designs a treatment plan to address their individualized goals. The philosophy of services is to provide treatments that are comprehensive and evidence based. Therapists offer their assistance in the areas of behavioral health issues, substance abuse, anger management, relationship problems, family conflicts, parenting skills, and school related problems.

Adult and Child Case Management: Case Management services are designed to assist the individual and family in evaluating and accessing identified treatment needs. The case manager assists in identifying needs and linking the individual and family to services to address their needs. The case manager is in charge if maintaining contact with the individual and the family, monitoring their progress, evaluating the effectiveness of services being provided, and helping to determine if additional services would be beneficial. Case Management services are offered to children, adolescents, and adults.

Psychiatric Services: Psychiatric services are provided to adolescents and adults who are assessed as being in-need of outpatient psychiatric care. A Board certified psychiatrist assesses the adolescent or adult in order to determine appropriate psychiatric care and follow-up, including medication management. These services may be provided in conjunction with other RACS services.

Additional Services:

Mental Health Support Services: This service is provided as needed to residents in Bath County. Mental Health Support Services offers practical help in managing everyday life. The goal is to help clients successfully handle both the freedom and the responsibilities of independent living. By providing training and support for persons transitioning into the community, Mental Health Support Services help insure their success in independent and healthy services.

Eagles Nest Clubhouse: This program is located in Buena Vista VA and once a week transportation is available to Bath County residents who qualify for this service.

Social Program: In recognition of the relationship between social interaction and mental health, Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse offers daily opportunities for social contact. A social activity occurs on some Saturdays and evenings as planned.

Support: Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse offers members an important support system. A person in recovery can best understand and help another recovering person. This proves to be beneficial for both.

Advocacy: Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse staff help members to obtain basic services in the community. Mental Health Case Management Services and Transportation Services of the agency are also housed at the Eagle's Nest Clubhouse.

Education: Through afternoon programs opportunities are available for members to extend their knowledge in the areas of mental and physical health.
