At Rockbridge Area Community Services, case managers enhance the quality of life for those recovering from severe mental illness through treatment coordination, support, and advocacy.
We provide essential support to individuals with mental health needs, ensuring they have access to the resources and care required to maintain a stable and fulfilling life. Our case managers work closely with adults to develop personalized plans addressing their goals and challenges. Through ongoing coordination, we help connect clients with housing, medical care, employment resources, and community services, enabling them to live as independently as possible.
We provide the following:
Case managers often make outreach visits, assist with benefits applications, and advocate for the client within the agency and the community.
Early intervention and continuous support are critical for children and adolescents facing mental health challenges. Our child and adolescent case management services are tailored to meet the unique needs of young people, helping them and their families navigate complex care systems. Our case managers collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, and other community services to create an integrated support network that fosters growth, development, and emotional stability.

Our school-based clinicians provide intensive behavioral and social support in the school environment and in the community. They work in conjunction with teachers and school staff to provide integrated care to children and their families. Integrated care helps to improve a child's behavioral, emotional, and social functioning.
Families work with our clinicians to improve the following:
ICC uses an evidence-based "High Fidelity Wraparound" model, in which an individualized team approach moves the child and family to self-efficacy and minimal professional involvement. A vital principle of this model is Family Voice and Choice, in which clients are respected as experts on their own families. The family identifies their needs, selects which professionals and other support people they want on their team, and has a leading role in all treatment decisions.
A single, integrated Plan of Care is developed at monthly team meetings held for each family. The ICC facilitation process continues until the team's goals are accomplished.
Eagle's Nest opened its doors in May 1983 and believes that recovery is not limited to certain individuals or choices. It supports many facets of evidence-based practices and sciences specific to recovery.
Psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR) is a supportive program that empowers individuals to build life skills, increase self-confidence, and improve social interactions. Our PSR services focus on helping clients overcome the effects of mental health challenges that interfere with their daily functioning. Through structured activities, group support, and individualized coaching, clients work toward greater independence and develop essential skills that enhance their quality of life.

Mental health services to individuals, groups, and families aged three and up. We treat mental illness, substance abuse issues, trauma, relationship problems, chronic issues as well as short-term crisis.
For minors facing emotional and behavioral issues we offer specific services to assist children and adolescents to develop needed coping strategies. Therapy is aimed at assisting children to identify and explore feelings, understand experiences and develop appropriate ways to express emotion.
In cases where a young person is in crisis, we provide immediate crisis therapy services to address urgent needs and prevent further distress. Crisis therapy is designed to provide rapid support, helping children and their families stabilize and begin the process of healing. We work closely with parents, caregivers, and schools to create a coordinated response that helps young clients feel secure and supported during difficult times.
RACS has individuals specifically trained to work with children. We have a Child Crisis Therapist who works with children, adolescents, and families. Crisis Therapy includes up to 30 days of intensive work to stabilize the at-risk child. Once the child is no longer in crisis, services can be continued in outpatient or referred if needed.
RACS offers outpatient therapy to address ongoing mental health needs. A variety of evidence-based therapies are available. These therapies are often covered by Medicaid or other Private insurance. We also offer a sliding scale to those without insurance.
Our outpatient therapy services provide a flexible and accessible approach to mental health care for adults and adolescents. Outpatient therapy allows clients to receive consistent support while continuing their daily routines at home, work, or school. Our licensed therapists offer individual, group, and family counseling to address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship challenges.
Each therapy plan is tailored to the client’s unique needs, helping them build coping skills, manage symptoms, and foster personal growth. Therapy is an effective way to learn coping strategies, deal with past traumas, learn practical communication skills, decrease anxiety and depression, and address a variety of other issues.
